Abstract

 

Decree n° 76-56 of 25 March 1976 pertaining to the movement and residence of French nationals in Algeria (Official Journal n° 27 of 2 April 1976) as amended by Decree 88-28, 9 February 1988 (Official Journal n° 06 of 10 February 1988)
French nationals who enter Algeria are submitted to specific conditions: they have to present a valid passport and a residence certificate if they want to settle. This condition is not required if the entry is linked to a bilateral agreement on technic, cultural or scientific cooperation.

Residence certificate may last 10 years for people who prove a regular stay during at least 3 years. Wife or husband, as well as children are submitted to same rules.
